Another week down, with lots of activity and fun. Something interesting that happened this week was that our group was in the newspaper, by accident, of course. It rained really hard one night, and our group was wading through the streets in the center of town, and a picture was taken for the newspaper. You can see a good dozen of us in the very top right corner, ity bity :) One of the families noticed us because we were¨out of place.¨that made me laugh.
Anyway, the 16th is Independence Day, which is a big deal here. The streets are lined with Mexico´s colors (green, red, and white), and there is merchandice everywhere! I´m excited because the church my family attends is having a party on the 15th, and I am dancing jarana, a traditional dance, with some of the ladies from the church. Never though I´d be doing this!! But I´ll be wearing the traditional clothes and everything. Should be interesting!
Oh, and just so you all know, Mexico beat Honduras the week in soccer, a big deal here. It´s very fun to watch soccer with my family because they are super enthusiastic. Makes me smile. Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!! Adios
