I made it safe and sound, although it was a long day fo traveling. I woke up at 3:30 in the morning to make it to the airport. We flew through Atlanta to Cancun. Then we drove 4 hours to Merida. I met my host family, and their name is Zapata Santos. They are super nice, and they have three kids. Two guys , 21 and 19, and then a girl who is 18. They are a very Christian home and are very acepting of me. I`m sharing a room with the girl and sleeping in a hammock! Definitely an adventure, but it is a lot cooler! We even went to a church service yesterday, praying for a girl who fell down her stairs and hit her head and almost died. It was very moving to see how much faith my family and their friends have.
Also, it is very, VERY hot here. Right now I´m sweating like crazy. But in the evenings, I think it will be beautiful. For now, I´m off on a quick break after already beginning some studying. So, I have homework tonight already. Oh well. Thanks for everyone´s support and hasta luego.

Getting Started
Hi! This is something definitely new to me, so I'll try to figure this out as I go :) The 25th I'll be in Merida, Mexico. I was originally supposed to go to Honduras, but Calvin decided to change our location because of the political instability in Honduras at the moment. I'm getting very excited, but also sad to leave home. It will be one big adventure as I study Spanish and live in a host family's home! I'll try my best to keep everyone updated. Adios!
